SHEKINAH! (#AtoZChallenge)

http://www.a-to-zchallenge.com/

“SHEKINAH” may well be my most favorite word, perhaps because about 6 years ago I actually had the unforgettable experience I’ve written of in the first line of this acrostic poem.  One morning before I was fully awake, I realized I was softly speaking the word “Shekinah” ; although I was unfamiliar with it, I sensed it was holy and awesome.

There are various slightly different spellings for this Hebrew word, and oodles of information about the term which refers to God’s glory and presence (including that it may express the feminine aspect of God’s nature).  Some religion experts argue it is not found in the Bible, only alluded to (seems a petty issue to me).  Following my poem, I’ve included a few notes and links, if you’re interested.

Mostly, I’m praying some of you might catch a glimpse of the Shekinah glory—it could change your life 🙂

*****

Shekinah, waking whisper on my lips…in last sigh of sleep

Holy Spirit ushers into new day God’s glory, exquisite presence ~

Everywhere I seek, I find angel maids leave gilded dust of loving-

Kindness, faithful mercy, words of His wisdom; free daily grace

Iridescent which glorifies, magnifies, praises and exalts the

Name Above All Names, the altogether lovely Lord Jesus Christ ~

And I would not miss a glimpse—pillars of cloud and fire, glimmer:

His Shekinah glory, radiant face yet unseen, Heaven’s King of Kings ~
