Drop Cares ~ 3 Haiku

https://haikuhorizons.wordpress.com/2017/04/16/haiku-horizons-prompt-drop/

Inspired by the prompt at https://haikuhorizons.wordpress.com/1

Cherry blossoms drop

Purloined gems, rose amethyst

Tears pink rivulets

2

Tears drop with Son’s blood

Mary kneeling beneath cross

Third dawn, King rises

3

Drop Yesterday’s cares

Make room for delivery

Baskets of blessings

Sun and Moon Crash (NaPoWriMo 2017, Day 8)

This post will serve prompts for both NaPoWriMo–Day 8, and TJ’s Household Haiku*.

http://www.napowrimo.net/day-eight-4/

“…our (optional) prompt. Today I’d like to challenge you to write a poem that relies on repetition. It can be repetition of a phrase, or just a word. Need a couple of examples? Try “The Bells” by Edgar Allen Poe, or Joy Harjo’s “She Had Some Horses”.”

If sun and moon crash

Blinding night with falling shards

We’ll dance on splinters

~

We’ll dance on splinters

Fallen shards, love reflected

Music of sun, moon

~

Night hold this sun, moon

Wind plays eerie tinkling chimes

Shadow frames Love’s face

~

Crashing notes ~ sun, moon

We dance amid fallen shards

Music splinters hearts

~

Heart’s music splinters

Sun and moon crashed with your death

Dancing blind ‘mid shards

~

Rescued, Didn’t Sink

Inspired by the prompt at https://haikuhorizons.wordpress.com/

https://haikuhorizons.wordpress.com/2017/04/02/haiku-horizons-prompt-sink/

So close to sinking

River’s high-rise, current fast

Pulse tastes coppery

~

Despair pounds dully

Dog-paddling near rocky bank

So close to sinking

~

Fear’s pulse, copper’d day

Sweet Death, taste tempts—white-feathered

Flash—I didn’t sink

NaPoWriMo…Start Your Engines!

http://www.napowrimo.net/one-day-to-go-and-an-early-bird-prompt/

April is The Month, a writers’ marathon with NaPoWriMo and the A to Z Challenge (which I’ve also entered)—I’ve fastened seat belt, donned crash helmet, and I’m prayed-up.

Ride along with me, if you’re game (I possess no driving permit, but my guardian angels are fully licensed/insured).  I’m about to press the ignition button, my foot is on the pedal—let’s GO!

The early bird prompt is to write a Haibun…if I’ve ever written one, I’ve forgotten; but no problem—I have a poet’s heart/brain, so I’m here 🙂

DISCLAIMER:  My faith is in Christ Jesus/Holy Bible.  I write with no intent to judge other faiths/belief systems.

~~~
Perhaps Faith is a place, an actual country—vast, farther than the eye can see. Maybe it’s coastal, with wide beaches ever ready to embrace the tides of teal and sapphire waters, laced with ivory froth.  And surely there are hills, valleys, gardens, waterfalls, forest, desert, ice floes—abundant with dew-drenched fragrant flora, flourishing blossoms, fruit; and snaking vines of prickly briars amid heat which burns to the soul’s marrow, or dark cold which freezes breath.
Good and evil thrive here too—polar opposites on an often vague spectrum, with contradictory manifestations.  Life/death, love/hate, separation/mercy & communion—all are found along pathways which are some days dusty, or bordered in fresh clover.
There are signposts for those who have eyes to see—the exquisite entrance gate welcomes everyone.
Lead me, Shepherd King
When I’m lost, Life’s labyrinth
Dark shade obscures gate
